Big Reactors Configuration Options

This page documents the major configuration options available for Big Reactors. It is organized by section.

General

enableComedy - If true, Big Reactors will allow nonsensical, but funny, blocks and fluids to be used as parts for reactor cores and turbine coils, such MFR's Pink Slime. Defaults to true.

enableMetallurgyFantasyMetalsInTurbines - If true, Big Reactors will allow several fantasy metals from Metallurgy 2 to be used as parts inside reactor cores and turbine coils. As these metals are generally pretty powerful, this option allows balance-minded modpacks to disable their use in Big Reactors. Defaults to true.

fuelUsageMultiplier - All fuel usage in a Multiblock Reactor will be multiplied by this number. Defaults to 1.

maxReactorHeight - The maximum allowable height for a Multiblock Reactor, in blocks. Defaults to 48.

maxReactorSize - The maximum allowable horizontal size for a Multiblock Reactor, in blocks. Defaults to 32.

maxTurbineSize - The maximum allowable horizontal size for a Multiblock Turbine, in blocks. A turbine's height will be limited to twice this number. Defaults to 32.

powerProductionMultiplier - All RF energy production in Big Reactors is multiplied by this number. You may use this to re-balance the mod's power output if you feel it is too high/too low. Defaults to 1.

registerCreativeMultiblockParts - If true, some "creative" parts will be added. Turn this off if you don't want them in the game. Defaults to true.

ticksPerRedstoneUpdate - Defines the number of ticks which BR's redstone ports will wait before updating their state. Use this to prevent users from lagging servers with rapidly-updating redstone control systems. Defaults to 20 ticks between updates.

Recipes

registerCharcoalForSmelting - If true, Big Reactors will register a smelting recipe which converts charcoal into graphite. Disable this if this is causing conflicts with another mod and use the crafting-recipe setting instead. (See below.) Defaults to true.

registerCoalForSmelting - If true, Big Reactors will register a smelting recipe which converts coal into graphite. Disable this if this is causing conflicts with another mod and use the crafting-recipe setting instead. (See below.) Defaults to true.

registerGraphiteCharcoalCraftingRecipes - If true, Big Reactors will register a shapeless crafting recipe to create graphite from charcoal and gravel. Use this if the smelting recipe is causing conflicts with other mods. Defaults to false.

registerGraphiteCoalCraftingRecipes - If true, Big Reactors will register a shapeless crafting recipe to create graphite from coal and gravel. Use this if the smelting recipe is causing conflicts with other mods. Defaults to false.

registerYelloriteSmeltToUranium - If true, Big Reactors will register Yellorite Ore to smelt into "ingotUranium" with the ore dictionary. If you feel this unbalances other mods in a modpack, turn this off, and Big Reactors will force Yellorite Ore to only smelt to yellorium ingots. Defaults to true.

registerYelloriumAsUranium - If true, Big Reactors will register yellorium ingots as "ingotUranium" and blutonium ingots as "ingotPlutonium" in the ore dictionary. If you feel this unbalances other mods turn this off and they will only be registered as "ingotYellorium" and "ingotBlutonium". Defaults to true.

requireObsidianGlass - If true, Big Reactors will require glasses which are made with obsidian, such as TE's Hardened Glass, to craft Reactor Glass or Turbine Glass. Defaults to false.

requireSteelInsteadOfIron - If true, Big Reactors will require items which oredict to "ingotSteel" instead of regular iron ingots in all of its recipes. Defaults to false.

Compatibility

autoAddUranium - If true, Big Reactors will add any items registered in the ore dictionary as "ingotUranium" or "ingotPlutonium" as a valid Big Reactors fuel. Uranium ingots will be made identical to yellorium, while plutonium ingots will be made identical to blutonium.

Debugging

debugMultiblocks - Generally does nothing. If you're helping Beef debug something, he may add some code which is activated when this option is turned on.
